One day I took a long hard look at the amount of time I was investing into online dating apps at night after I put my kids to bed. Too much & with no return! Then it hit me. What if I spent the same amount of time making something sparkly? Would my mood be different? Would I feel better? Alas, it was!

I’ve worn heart shaped sunnies for as long as I can remember. And I’ve worn sparkly things for as long as I can remember, too. Sparkles and Shades was born.

My first edition of Sparkles and Shades was centered around giving a voice to the upset I feel with what’s currently happening & continues to happen in our society. "Smash the Patriarchy", "FTP" (F*cK The Patriarchy) , "Get Out and Vote” , & “ End Racism"; all of these were ways to create meaningful conversations, voice frustrations ALL WHILE putting some shine into this dark world.

Then it evolved....and evolved some more....now anything goes! Song lyrics, personal mantras, teams, bands, inspirations, declarations, you name it, I can do it!
